About our Cacao

Our ceremonial grade cacao is from the rare and highly sought chuncho bean that is native to southern Peru. Cacao chuncho features higher amounts of cocoa butter, causing a more creamy and less bitter taste. More subtle aromas create a lovely profile that grows in delight with each sip and requires little to no sweetener. The cacao easily melts into liquid, providing a smooth drinking experience.


Our consciously farmed cacao originates from a Fair Trade International and USDA Organic certified cooperative of small family farms in southern Peru that includes members of the indigenous Matsigenka community and is approximately 40% women. Many families in the cooperative have nourished cacao for generations. Your purchase of Conscious Cacao supports long-term sustainability of their communities! 


We have a blessing ceremony for each batch that infuses the plant with love and shamanic energy to empower your personal healing. In addition to ceremonial uses, our incredibly diverse cacao chuncho may be utilized as a daily coffee replacement, hot chocolate treat, and even in baking.
